The cribs are being recalled from the popular retailer Pottery Barn Kids due to a possible product defect.  According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there is a possibility of injuries including suffocation or entrapment with young children that use the cribs.

And this risk of injury is due to the drop-side on many of the cribs being defective and coming detached due to faulty hardware.

The recall impacts all Pottery Barn drop-side cribs regardless of model.

Bloomberg News, reports that the CPSC has attributed as many as 153 deaths in the last four years to this type of childrens’ crib.  The CPSC has voted to ban this type of crib completely.
