According to Bloomberg News, Toyota is investigating and reviewing consumer complaints and allegations dealing with electronic product defect problems in the Corolla and Matrix cars sold in the US.
The complaint is that an electronic issue is causing the vehicles to stall or shut down while they are being operated. This product defect could present drivers and passengers with serious personal injuries if the cars stalled in traffic or at high speeds.
The electronic component in question is in 1.19 million models built from 2005 through 2007.
Toyota has not determined if a recall will be necessary but does not believe that the problems presents a safety issue for consumers.
